Talitha Kum 2nd General Assembly

Talitha Kum's 2nd General Assembly will be held on 18-24 May 2024 at the Fraterna Domus in Sacrofano, Rome. Around 200 Talitha Kum delegates from around 90 countries representing women and men religious, laity, young people, and survivors will gather for the General Assembly, which also marks its 15th anniversary this year. A synodal, the bottom-up approach will be adopted throughout the assembly with the theme “Journeying Together to End Human Trafficking: Compassion in Action for Transformation”.

Talitha Kum Sisters and partner collaborators will gather to dialogue, listen, discern, and share to continue engaging and strategically tackling this modern-day evil that envelops the globe.

All panel sessions from Sacrofano will be live-streamed here. We are honored to have many esteemed speakers joining us during this assembly, including the testimonies of survivors, young people, and Sisters from the grassroots, to share their experiences in working to end human trafficking through partnerships and collaboration, particularly between religious communities, civil society leaders, diplomats, international agencies, etc.

The Assembly will formally conclude on May 23 with the Eucharistic Liturgy at St. Peter’s Basilica, and later with the Sister’s Anti-Trafficking Awards 2024 celebration at Augustinianum Auditorium to recognize the three Catholic Sisters who have demonstrated exceptional courage, creativity, collaboration, and achievement in the protection of their communities from human trafficking.

“I am grateful for the support of the UISG Executive Board and its members for entrusting us Talitha Kum members, with this prophetic mission initiative as we journey together in our commitment to fight against human trafficking. I am also grateful for our donors and partners in this mission, and most of all, to God's love that leads us towards compassion in action for transformation.” Sr Abby Avelino, MM - Talitha Kum International Coordinator

Let us accompany the Talitha Kum International network with prayers for the success of this Assembly.
