Remain in my love (John 15,9) - TKICC in Rome

Remain in my love (John 15, 9). Inspired and accompanied by this Gospel, the sisters of Talitha Kum International Coordination Committee concluded the weeklong meeting in Rome (May 16 to 21, 2022). A special time for the international coordinators as their first meeting in person after three years. This week was a meeting of deep listening in sharing their experiences and challenges of the different parts of the world, represent Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America, and Oceania continents.

The sisters had a busy week. They had a few days to evaluate Talitha Kum’s journey over the past three years, identify challenges and innovative solutions, and plan for the future of the network. They discussed and worked on several topics, such as Talitha Kum’s identity and priorities, its main areas and priority, based on decisions made at the 2019 General Assembly; advocacy such as the Call to Action, the organization of the network; as well as the challenges and emerging elements at this time; and how Talitha Kum is called to respond on these issues.

The sisters also had the opportunity to meet the newly elected UISG president, Sr. Nadia Coppa, ASC, as well as UISG Executive Secretary, Sr. Patricia Murray, IBMV. They shared with them the realities and challenges of human trafficking on the different continents and the valuable work of the Talitha Kum sisters at the grassroots.

We thank all those who made it possible and accompanied this meeting with their prayers.
