"Nuns healing hearts" - Photographic exhibition from March 1st to 6th at the MAXXI Corner in Rome

"Nuns healing hearts" is a photographic exhibition by Lisa Kristine, to combat human trafficking. The shots of humanitarian photographer Lisa Kristine are the result of a deep dialogue between the artist, the nuns, and the victims of trafficking and share the commitment of the international network Talitha Kum.

After the inauguration at the Vatican with Pope Francis and the exhibition in New York (United Nations Building) and in Tokyo, "Nuns healing hearts" will be open to the Italian public for the first time, free of charge, at the MAXXI Corner from March 1 to 6 2022, from 11:00 to 19:00. You are all most welcome. Admission is free. It is also possible to request a "guided tour" for groups, entities and organizations by sending a written request to secretariat@talithakum.info.

The exhibition will be inaugurated with a Grand Opening with the participation of Giovanna Melandri, President of Fondazione MAXXI, Elena Bonetti - Minister for Equal Opportunities and Family, Paolo Ruffini Prefect of the Ministry of Communication, Fabio Baggio, CS - Undersecretary of the Migrants and Refugees Section (DSSUI), Laurence Hart - Director IOM Office for the Mediterranean, Massimo Bray - Director General of Treccani, M. Franca Zonta, IMF - UISG Executive Council Member, and Gabriella Bottani, SMC - Talitha Kum International Coordinator. Humanitarian photographer Lisa Kristine will also participate with a video message.

On this occasion, a series of seven videos, directed by Lia Beltrami (Aurora Vision), will be shown to the public for the first time. These videos  were made to bring the general public closer to the reality of human trafficking and to Talitha Kum.

The exhibition is organized by the cultural entrepreneur Claudia Conte in collaboration with the Global Solidarity Fund, in favor of the International Union of Superiors General and Talitha Kum. Numerous institutions have sponsored the project: Ministry of Culture, Embassy to the Holy See of the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Netherlands, Pontifical Foundation Gravissimum Educationis, Galileo Foundation, IOM, UNICRI, Department of Culture of Roma, Rai for Social Affairs, Fondation Treccani Cultura, Festival della Missione.

The following have greatly contributed to the organization of the exhibition: 20Ventuno, Angela Prudenzi, Lovati e Associati, Fabbro spa, Generali - Agency C.so Trieste, Podere La Pace.

"Nuns healing hearts" will be used by the Festival della Missione, to be held in Milan in September 2022. The exhibition will be also inaugurated online on July 30, 2022, on the occasion of the United Nations World Day against Human Trafficking.

We sincerely thank all those who made this beautiful exhibition possible. It allows us to lift the veil on the horror of human trafficking and hopefully foster even more actions to combat it.
